Shimano FD-M785-E2 XT Front Derailleur 2x10 Low-Clamp (E-Type)

The Shimano XT Double Front Derailleur FD-M785 has been designed to optimize its function with two chainrings. To this end, the cage length and shaping is specific to the smaller diameter differential between the big and little rings on a 2x10 DynaSys drivetrain. Whether you run a 26/38t or a 28/42t crank, this is the changer you'll want. Otherwise, the FD-M785 designation means that this is a low-clamp/ top-swing derailleur. For what it's worth, Shimano's top-swing derailleurs always tickle the scale a few grams lighter than their traditional counterparts, and this one's no exception. The limit screws are angled to the outside to make adjustments easier on many of today's complex rear suspension designs. Compared to its XTR counterpart, this XT derailleur is the functional equivalent. The cage shaping is the same, the only difference being a few grams. The Shimano XT Double Front Derailleur FD-M785 is available with two mounting options -- E-Type or Multi-Clamp (28.6, 31.8, and 34.9mm).
